The holidays are a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends. But the last couple months of the year can be pretty stressful, too. Here are a few tips to help you keep your stress in check this holiday season.
The holidays are a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends. But the last couple months of the year can be pretty stressful, too.
Tips for Managing Holiday Stress
Get Organized. Get a head start by planning for the holidays early. Start thinking about gift budgets, meals, travel and lodging plans now, and you’ll feel a lot less stressed later. There are great tools for staying organized during the holidays, especially when it comes to gifts. Check out apps like Santa’s Bag and The Christmas List!
Don’t over-commit. Decide what’s important to you and avoid taking on any additional obligations. A huge challenge during the holiday season is remembering that it’s okay to say no! But, by doing so, you’ll protect yourself from feeling unnecessarily overwhelmed.
Ask for help. For example, if you’re planning a holiday get-together, ask everyone – or even just a few people – to bring a dish rather than preparing everything yourself.
Make time for yourself. It’s wonderful to be surrounded by family and friends, but allow enough time for yourself to relax, unwind, and do the things you enjoy so that you don’t find yourself feeling irritable and burnt out by the time family and friends come around.
Know your spending limit. Take a look at your finances and pick a spending limit you are comfortable with for this holiday season. Your spending limit could be for gifts only, or it could include holiday meals like Thanksgiving dinner. If you plan a comfortable budget ahead of time, shopping will be much less stressful.
Apply these tips for managing holiday stress to your daily life throughout the holiday season, and you’ll be able to take a deep breath and truly enjoy the holiday season.

The Cycle Station fills avid commuter cyclists’ need for easy access to bike parking. It also encourages other commuters to use bicycles more often by providing solutions to common deterrents, such as a lack of access to showers. The Cycle Station provides amenities that cyclists haven’t had easy access to in the past. In doing so, it also offers Lloyd-area employees, residents and visitors an opportunity to bike to the area without the ordinary hassle.
The Lloyd Cycle Station is home to a multitude of services and amenities, including:
